The right route when the existing service simply will not carry a charger
Not everybody wants a full-service install. You can buy the charger direct, and you can use our tools to work out what your service will carry and produce the drawings your city asks for.
EVIQO make a 48A Level 2 charger in J1772 and NACS — the same class of unit we fit every week, and a model that appears on PG&E's eligible-charger list. Buy it direct and have us install it, or install it yourself.

Open the customer portal →A charger is a continuous load, which means the circuit has to be sized at 125% of its rating. Get that wrong and the breaker nuisance-trips, or worse, it does not.
We calculate what your existing service can actually carry under NEC 220.83 before quoting anything. Often that means we can derate the charger slightly and avoid a panel upgrade altogether — which is cheaper for you and, under PG&E's program, entirely acceptable.
Where an upgrade genuinely is needed, we will show you the calculation rather than assert it.
Adriatic Builders is a contractor in PG&E's Trade Ally Network for the Residential EV Charging program. For income-qualified customers the Rebate Plus path pays $2,000 towards an eligible charger and its installation, or $5,000 where a panel upgrade from under 200A is part of the job.
